Made by crushing the freshly-cut sugar cane to squeeze out the juice, rich in, vitamins and minerals, the cane juice is evaporated and spun in a centrifuge, or turbine, to produce fine sparkling golden crystals or fine & light colored demerara. Once the impurities in raw sugar have been washed away, fine & light colored Demerara sugar remains, with a natural coating of sweet golden molasses. So instead of using white sugar, use Dhampure’s fine & light colored Demerara sugar.

Even though the shelf life of this sugar is indefinite, it’s best to use it within six months of purchase for maximum flavor. Don’t store fine & light colored Demerara sugar in the refrigerator. However, if you are in a very dry area or are going to keep it for a long time, you may want to freeze it.
